Internet Star (Internet Star: The Search for the cutest face
in the internet) is a competition in Friendster. It debuted on June 2008
The contest seeks to discover the cutest face in the
friendster world . The contestants photos will be posted on the Internet Star
profile and let the public decide what will be the outcome of the contest.
Internet Star Stages
Registrations
Before the hopefuls get the chance to become one of the
finalists they need to submit their registration forms. Once they had submitted
it the Internet Star Council will check if they are qualify to join. The
hopefuls who were qualified will make it through the Semi-Finals.
Semi-Finals
In the first season, the semifinalists were randomly split
into 5 batches. Each batch was composed of 6 semifinalists. The Two
semifinalists who received the most number of votes will make it to the second
level (the FINAL 16).
In the second season, the semifinalists were divided into
two groups (10 members each group) by gender to ensure an equal division in the
final 16 (because in season 1 only five male contestants make it through the
final 16). Then , the five who will get the highest number of votes in each
group will make it to the Final 16.
In the third season, there were three batches of
semi-finalists (10 finalists each batch consist of 5 boys and 5 girls). After a
long week of voting, the FIVE (5) Finalists with the highest number of votes �
2 girls , 2 boys and the next top vote getter � will secure coveted spot in the
Final 16.
Wildcard Week / Surprise Week
In this round, the semifinalists who failed to get a spot in
the final 16 will be given a second chance to move in the final 16.
In season 1 and 2 there were Surprise Finalists. Surprise
Finalists are the finalists who submitted their registration forms after the
registration period but qualified to become one of the finalists.
In season 2 and 3, finalists from the previous seasons was
given a chance again to become one of the final 16 finalists.
Voting Procedures
The Voting system is unlimited so each voter is free to cast
how many votes he/she wants for his/her bet.
